About
Dao Ming Chuang, born in Taipei in 1989. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at the National Taipei University of the Arts in 2012 and currently lives and works in Taipei. Primarily focusing on painting, his practice incorporates acrylic paint, lacquer, technical pens, and paper tape, combining collage, spray painting, symbolization, and layered textures to construct fluid visual spaces inspired by imagery from the natural world. His work explores the relationships between social connection, faith, artistic context, and subjective experience, while continuously developing his own distinctive aesthetic perspective. Chuang has been recognized in numerous art awards, including the 2019 Kaohsiung Award, the 2024 Luminous Award, the 2025 National Fine Arts Exhibition, and the Gold Award at the 2025 Ming Wei Arts Innovation Award. His works have also been collected by the Art Bank and other institutions.
