Persistence of Vision and Memory.

In both Dao Ming Chuang's and Chuang Hsuan Chan's paintings, discarded fragments appear as visual elements. Following these descending lines of cuts, visitors trace back to life experiences—memories left behind, yet not fully erased.

Their paintings capture the scars and nostalgia of nature and life. After enduring the changing seasons, we arrive at the next bloom, moving forward into another year. The trees shimmering with spiritual light, the flowers imbued with both sorrow and glory, and the misty landscapes—all these escapes from memory, life’s triggers, and the sense of a lost spiritual home—become landscapes within the paintings, wandering between space and time. You might call it a suspended civilisation or remnants of life’s fragments. It is through their brokenness and incompleteness that they can be reassembled, transforming into another form of eternity.
